March 29th is National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day

A small businessman standing with his arms up and smiling happily near a giant leg in trousers and shoe lying near him, on the concrete gray background. Winning contest. Best in field. David and Goliath. Small company wins big one.

National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day is observed each year on March 29th. This day honors all small business owners and if you look around your home town, you will see them, perhaps more than you realized.

According to National Day Calendar, Rick and Margie Segel founded National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day in honor of couples like his parents whose successful hat shop opened in 1939 and grew into a 10,000 square feet and $2 million dollar clothing store.

Small businesses play a vital role in the U.S. economy.

Think about a local coffee shop, ice cream parlor or even the gym you frequent every morning. Small businesses hire locally and support the local economy.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are more than 28 million small businesses in the United States generating over 50 million local jobs. What’s not to like about that?

What does this mean to you?

Bigger is not always better. We are proud to be a small business and Put Another Way contracts with other small business owners to collaborate on large projects.
